I have been involved in various activities and organizations promoting smart growth, land and building preservation. I am currently president of the Board of NeighborSpace, an urban land trust.
I was a founding member of the 1000 Friends of Maryland. The organization is now managed within Preservation Maryland.
I am a member of AIA and ULI and participate in the Baltimore AIA Urban Design Committee.
My articles about architecture, urban planning and design have been published in AchDaily, CityLab, the Baltimore Business Journal, Smart City Dive, The Urbanite and other publications.

I have been appointed to a number of Transition teams and Task Forces including a State Task Force on Transit Oriented Development, the transition team (subcommittee for transportation) for Governor O'Malley, the transition team for Mayor Pugh (Subcommittee on Transportation), and the transition team for Executive Olszewski (Sustainability).
I am currently an appointed member of Baltimore City Social Determinants of Health Task Force (Housing Committee) and of the Affordable Housing Task Force of Baltimore County.
Other interests include philosophy, physics photography and walking in nature.
